Spring Is Here, and I’m Romanticizing Everything
Longer days, fresh food, and a reminder to romanticize life.
At exactly 5:32 p.m. yesterday, I stepped outside and didn’t feel an immediate urge to sprint back inside. The sun was still out. Teenagers were outside chillin. My iced coffee cravings were creeping in (even though I’m a firm believer that hot coffee transcends seasons). Basically, it hit me—spring is coming and just like that, my annual spring romanticization cycle began.
I’m not one of those people who claims winter had me in a chokehold—January and February were fine—but I have been feeling like I’ve been going through the motions. Things are getting done, but I’m not necessarily experiencing them. So, with spring coming in, I’m actively choosing to make things feel special again. More long walks with Noka, more time outside just being, and more reasons to switch up my day-to-day.
The Daylight is Daylighting
I refuse to act like longer days don’t change my entire mood. Evenings feel less like a race against the clock and more like an opportunity to actually do things after 5 p.m. I look forward to more walks—sometimes with music, sometimes with a podcast—and lately, I’ve been bouncing between Kelela, Raveena, and a lot of ‘70s and ‘80s soul. The extra daylight just makes sense for these slow, intentional moments.
Spring Dressing = A Rebrand
This season, I’m all about light layers and effortless pieces. I’m very much into striped button-downs, good denim, and my new Sézane linen baseball cap. They had an option to personalize it (which I thought was so chic), but I spent too much time overthinking what to get embroidered, so I skipped it.
I also need a fresh pair of kitten heels because my current ones have been through it. And I’m debating if I should go back blonde or let my ginger phase live a little longer. Either way, I’ve officially brought out my Louis Vuitton fragrance Afternoon Swim again because nothing smells more like this time of year.

Farmers Market Runs & Fancy Kale Salads
I’m in my fresh and light food era, which means lots of berries, quinoa, and the return of my favorite type of kale salad (massaged with great olive oil, avocado, sea salt and lemon, obviously). Sardines are still very much in the rotation—if you know, you know.
We’re Moving Into a Bigger Space!!
We’re moving into a bigger space at the end of the month, and while I hate the actual process of moving, I love the chance to reset. I’m clearing out everything that no longer serves me—physically, mentally, everything. The goal is to make space before the last-minute packing panic sets in.
Creativity Needs a Reset
I’ve had The Artist’s Way since 2023 and never actually did it. But I think books find you when you’re ready for them. Now feels like the right time, and doing Morning Pages every day has been exactly what I needed. Writing three pages of whatever has been cathartic.
Spring is about fresh starts, but I think it’s also about small, deliberate joys. The little things that make the everyday feel different. What are you romanticizing this season?

Felt this! I too always look forward to romanticizing all that comes with spring.
